How Zaps Works

Badges & Clan Tiers

One unified status system. Every badge earned is permanent, and shows everywhere your profile appears.

Live now

Zaps has one badge system. No separate cosmetics, no purchasable flair. Every badge is earned, every badge is permanent once earned, and every badge displays wherever your profile appears, leaderboards included.

The badges

BadgeHow it is earned
Founding TraderReserved for the original seed community of Zaps: the 500 traders who minted Zeru zScore NFTs before Zaps existed. Cannot be earned anymore.
Early BackerVouch for a KOL by burning zaps on their name. Timestamped with the date of the burn. The earliest backers of a KOL who later becomes huge hold a position nobody can replicate afterward.
StakedShown on a KOL's profile while they have zaps locked on their own name. The badge that says the leader has skin in the game right now.
Clan Tier badgesCrossing each held-balance threshold unlocks that tier's badge, permanently.

Clan Tiers

Five tiers, based on the zaps you hold: Initiate → Climber → Operator → Veteran → Legend.

Your profile shows your current tier and a progress bar to the next. Two rules keep tiers meaningful:

  • The badge is permanent. Once you cross a threshold, the badge is yours forever, even if you spend your balance down afterward. Spending zaps is the point of zaps, and it never erases earned status.
  • Privileges are live. Any functional privilege tied to a tier applies only while your current balance still meets the threshold. Status is permanent. Perks require presence.
Badges never expire · Status is permanent · Privileges are live

Why permanence matters

Everything on Zaps that is earned stays earned. Badges do not decay, vouches cannot be taken back, and history is never rewritten. A profile on Zaps is a permanent record of what its owner actually did, which is exactly what makes it worth building.
