$ZERU

The network token. Deliberately minimal: governance and fee burn, nothing else.

$ZERU is the network token of Zeru, the intelligence layer that Zaps is built on. It is kept deliberately minimal, and that minimalism is the design, not a placeholder for future features.

Utility 1: Governance

$ZERU holders vote on protocol parameters: attribution window lengths, minimum stake thresholds for formal disputes, campaign tier definitions. The knobs of the network, governed by the network.

Utility 2: Fee burn

Every campaign fee Zaps collects in stablecoin is used to buy $ZERU on the open market and burn it. More campaigns, more fees, more burn, less supply. Network growth and token supply reduction are structurally aligned, funded purely by platform revenue.

Governance · Fee burn · That is the whole list

What $ZERU does not do

No staking mechanics. No reward multipliers. No yield programs. No role in scores, clans, badges, or any reputation mechanic: all of that runs on zaps, the internal currency, and there is no conversion between the two. See zaps vs $ZERU.

How $ZERU itself is distributed and acquired is governed separately from Zaps and is outside the scope of these docs.
